What are your personal KPI’S?

Comments Off on What are your personal KPI’S?
KPI’S stands for Key Personal Indicators. Many businesses have them for measuring their own performance. Many employees have them to measure their individual performance. Think about a staff member in sales which is a classic area for KPI’s. Sales staff KPI’s may include number of sales calls, number of meetings, number of referrals, business $ value converted etc. Personal KPI’s We talk about setting goals and recommend we break the goals down into a road map of achievable results. Well these can often be broken down into key performance indicators as well. Consider the goal of running a marathon. You do not start by immediately going and running 42 km’s. Instead you break the goal down into sub goals or smaller goals. So for the month of March you may run 5...

Increase Productivity by Batching Tasks

Comments Off on Increase Productivity by Batching Tasks
Batching tasks is taking a group of tasks and ‘doing’ them in the same block of time. For example, making all your telephone calls for the day in one group, checking your emails in one group, or when you are going to the shops doing more than just the grocery shopping. Batching and Shopping By batching your shopping you are saving time, saving petrol and helping the environment. The following are some elements to consider before you go to the shops for a detailed example of batching tasks. We know we are going to the shops for the groceries but often there are many errands that we can do whilst we are out such as purchasing petrol, going to the post office, dropping off clothing at a charity bin and so on. So...

Goal Setting

Comments Off on Goal Setting
It is time to think about setting goals for the year both in a personal sense and a business sense. However before we even set a goal some things to consider include: What is your sense of purpose? What is your purpose in life, what do you love, what do you value, and what do you really want to do? Answer these questions without too much thought it is known as ‘a rapid fire exercise’ rather than ponder for a long time. In a rapid fire exercise you answer the question with 5 answers in 30 seconds. Most of the time you get the same answers even if you pondered for 2 hours. So take 30 seconds and write down five things that are your purpose in life, what you love,...

My favourite quotes about Goal Setting.

I am responsible

Comments Off on I am responsible
To release my potential from past restrictive programming of my subconscious, it is extremely important that I give myself the right to be me and to function as I choose. It is not possible to have sound self-esteem if I am not true to myself or give up responsibility and accountability for my own life as I seek to achieve fulfilment of my needs and goals. I want to allow myself the freedom to choose without building a prison for myself with “have to’s”, “can not’s” and “they won’t let me’s.” I recognise I am functioning from my own free choice and I can either: recognise myself as important, valuable and interesting as a person, or see myself as an absolute incompetent, who is unworthy and unneeded. I can choose to be kind, loving, helpful, loyal and compassionate, or to...

New Habits to Your Responses

Comments Off on New Habits to Your Responses
To make changes to ensure we have the ‘The Power To Choose’ in our own life we have to develop some new habits. I recommend the following two new habits to start. Stimulus and Response Understand that you are choosing your reaction to the stimulus presented to you. You have the power to choose. Pause to ensure you are making the right choice for you, your values and goals. Are you going to yell at the driver that cut you off in the traffic or how are you going to react? What about that extra bit of work your boss gives you with a tight deadline? Will you spend the next few hours working yourself up because you are annoyed or will you just focus and get it done? Evaluation Every choice we make has...

Taking Action with out Choices!

Comments Off on Taking Action with out Choices!
We now recognise we have the power to choose so the steps to take ACTION are as follows: Know your outcome We often know what we don’t want. Know your outcome and you have a target. Be clear about what you want to achieve today. Don’t leave life to chance. Take Action You have the power to choose. You can choose to act today – go for that walk, eat that apple, call that friend, join that program, finish that book, clean out that cupboard, and give away those clothes … You don’t have to be great to get started, but you have to get started to be great. ~Les Brown Evaluate Evaluate and answer honestly. Notice if what you are doing is moving you in the direction of your goals or away from them....

The Power to Choose

Comments Off on The Power to Choose
All you need is within you now. You have the resourcefulness you need for whatever you decide to choose. You REALLY do have the: Courage Passion Determination Fire We can do anything if we have a compelling reason and the focus. We will conquer all fears; if we have a big enough reason we would get it. Some of my favourite action quotes “An ounce of action is worth a tonne of theory.” ~Friedrich Engels “Action will remove the doubts that theory can not solve.” ~Tehyi Hsieh  “It’s not what you know, its what you do with what you know.” ~Author Unknown There is always a way Even if it is not true, act like it is and usually you can find a way to achieve what you want to achieve. You can push through the tough times Persist a little longer Search a little harder Keep going Failure...
