Have a Perfect Day!

Comments Off on Have a Perfect Day!
A story told by Benjamin Zander in his book “The Art of Possibility”. “Waiter,” said Ben, in an exuberant mood, “I have a perfect life, but I don’t have a knife.” I was having breakfast with a friend on one of my periodic visits to London to conduct the Philharmonic Orchestra. I heard giggles behind me and, turning around, caught the eye of a girl of about 12 with a typically English pudding-bowl haircut. We exchanged smiles, and then I went back to my conversation and to my breakfast. The next day, I passed the young lady again in the breakfast room and stopped to speak with her. “Good morning. How are you today?” She drew herself up ever so slightly and, with a tilt to her chin and a sparkle in her eye, answered...

You Can Be Whatever You Want To Be!

Comments Off on You Can Be Whatever You Want To Be!
There is inside you all of the potential to be whatever you want to be, all of the energy to do whatever you want to do. Imagine yourself as you would like to be, doing what you want to do, and each day, take one step towards your dream. And though at times it may seem too difficult to continue, hold on to your dream. One morning you will awake to find that you are the person you dreamed of, doing what you wanted to do, simply because you had the courage to believe in your potential and to hold on to your dream. ~ Donna Levine ~

Comments Off on Gratitude
Gratitude is a quality similar to electricity: It must be produced and discharged and used up in order to exist at all. William Faulkner Gratitude (also known as thankfulness, gratefulness, or appreciation). It’s a positive emotion or attitude in acknowledgement of a benefit that one has received or will receive. Do you show gratitude? Do you show enough gratitude? Studies show that people who are more grateful are happier, less depressed and enjoy life more. They’re more adapt at dealing with difficulties that we all experience in life and they are more likely to seek support from others.  Grateful people also sleep better because they think more positive thoughts before they go to sleep. From now on, catch yourself throughout the day and take a moment to just be grateful. Grateful for the air-conditioned...

Why Set Goals?

Comments Off on Why Set Goals?
Goals Help You Establish Priorities and Decide What is Truly Important It is important for us to choose what we are going to spend our valuable time on and be clear on what we are NOT going to spend our time on. It is important to understand that we can’t do everything and being clear on our goals allows us to prioritise and plan how we are going to spend our time. When we identify and write down our top goals, that allows us to be clear on what is most important to us. It allows us to focus on what really matters most. Achieving Goals is a Great Way to Spend Your Time We are all busy. It is almost a competition. Some of us are busy being busy and some of...

There is Always an Answer

Comments Off on There is Always an Answer
In this learning experience called life, there are things that happen that are difficult.  It helps a lot to remember that there is always an answer greater than the problem we are experiencing. Just as when we are learning the rules in mathematics, the problem may seem daunting or overwhelming – but only until we apply the right thinking, and then the answer reveals itself. In life, we sometimes feel that we have made a mistake and we don’t like the results.  Nevertheless, the power of the Universe is always available in our life.  Through proper thinking about the “problem”, we have access to the power to receive a useful answer. Wherever you are right now, take a deep breath and know your greatest answer is seeking to emerge through you.

Today’s Dreams are Tomorrow’s Successes

Comments Off on Today’s Dreams are Tomorrow’s Successes
Don’t be afraid of high hopes or plans that seem to be out of reach. Life is meant to be experienced, and every situation allows for learning and growth.  Motivation is a positive starting point, and action places you on a forward path. A dream is a blueprint of a goal not yet achieved; the only difference between the two is the effort involved in attaining what you hope to accomplish. Let your mind and heart urge you on; allow the power of your will to lead you to your destination. Don’t count the steps ahead; just add up the total of steps already covered, and multiply it by faith, confidence, and endurance.  Always remember that for those who persist, today’s dreams are transformed into tomorrow’s successes. What Are You Afraid To Do?

Comments Off on What Are You Afraid To Do?
“One of the greatest discoveries a man makes, one of his great surprises, is to find he can do what he was afraid he couldn’t do.” – Henry Ford Have you realised that most of the barriers that are challenging us have been put there by us in the first place? Logic would tell us then that if we put them there, then we can take them down. One of the great discoveries you and I can make is to find that we really can do something we were afraid we couldn’t do. The barrier is something we have put up inside ourselves and we really can take it down. What barrier will you take down this week? Have a go, what have you got to lose? If you are successful, much is...

It’s Time to Kick Some Goals

Comments Off on It’s Time to Kick Some Goals
Think of some things you want to happen in your life. Some amazing, exciting and really imaginative things you want. Write them out now. Goal 1 Goal 2 Goal 3 Goal 4 Goal 5 Goal 6 Goal 7 Goal 8 Goal 9 Goal 10 You can keep going, of course, if you wish or not even have 10 goals. The number is irrelevant; the goal is what is important. Now arrange them in order of priority. Then set a target date. Now, what is the first step for the first goal? Great! Now, go and do that!

What Are You Doing For Others?

Comments Off on What Are You Doing For Others?
Martin Luther King, Jr. once said, “Every person must decide whether they will walk in the light of creative altruism or the darkness of destructive selfishness.” This is the judgment. Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, “What are you doing for others?” Did you know that contribution is one of our six core needs? To feel whole and complete, we are programmed to contribute. There are many ways to contribute and I’m not necessarily talking about volunteering on a regular occasion. Did you realise that helping others can be as simple as making a decision to smile more than you currently do? This is a decision that I made a couple of years ago. Now, I find that I am automatically smiling just as I walk along the street without realising...
